TPP and SOPA rubbish

Hi guys,
I'm seeing a lot of these alerts and petition signing about organizations called TPP and SOPA and how they're going to prevent you making fan art, fanfics and monitor your internet, etc and I'm getting sick of them. I'm not going to explain about them here since it's all an internet scare anyway and I mean no disrespect to the people who have been fooled by all this at all but any more journals that spread this scare will result in an unwatch from me since they're all driving me mad.

They will NEVER happen. It's a scare that comes around every year or so and I've seen so many since I joined DA. I can appreciate that it worries people - especially younger deviants - and I can understand petitions etc to prevent it, but it's all nonsensical.

Firstly, neither SOPA nor TPP has any influence over fanfic, Fan art, etc. These are all protected under the rights of fair use and copyright which are not related to piracy in any sense unless you're making money from them and claiming them as your own.

THEY ARE UNRELATED LAWS.

Secondly, no one has the ability to monitor what everyone does on the internet at all times. Not only do they not have the manpower to watch or report everyone's internet use, but they have much more pressing matters to attend to, such as monitoring for real crimes like underage exploitation, terrorism and the like. If the laws (sadly and unfortunately) can't lock down all the people who do that kind of thing, what makes anyone think they have the power and ability to bother about someone drawing a Pokemon or writing a story about MLP? Even if the laws of copyright were changed to be incorporated by SOPA or TPP (which they aren't and never will be) if there is still internet crime being perpetuated, no one is going to hunt down and imprison people for drawing an anime character or remove it from a website.

Please be sensible and don't worry about these scares or you'll be reacting the same way every freakin' year and my watch list will get smaller and smaller as I remove everyone unintentionally spreading the scares from it!

TDC 3: Orient Express!

This is TDC 3: Orient Express! The rules are as follows:

Create a Fakemon based on the East! This can be anything from something inspired by Eastern culture or mythology to an animal found in Eastern lands. This is a very vague challenge - if it's too vague, I'll create a more enclosed TDC next time! The challenge was suggested by RuneKerianDrake, so thanks for your thoughts my friend
It has to be a design new to your gallery, not an older one. This is a creative challenge to your current skills, so I won't feature any old designs.
here's a new one - This has to be a Fakemon and not an evolution or pre-evolution of an existing official Pokemon!
You are welcome to change or update your entry whenever you like.
TDC 2 will be closed on April 4th 2014.

PLEASE NOTE:

Artists of ANY skill level should feel free to take part. TDC should be considered a workshop to practise both skill and design, so please don't feel like you shouldn't contribute if you're not confident in your art. I encourage others who take part to offer help and advice if you request it in your description (so you will always get some feedback, even if it's just from me) and constructive criticism is always useful, but abuse and unhelpful comments such as 'this suxxxs111' etc will not be tolerated.
