My files on Psycoco are embarrassingly thin on the ground; so little is known about him that not only is he one of my most deadly enemies, he’s also the most frustrating.

Although I’ve done extensive research, no records have been found regarding Psycoco’s identity before he began his crime sprees as a homicidal clown; it’s unusual for a killer as violent as Psycoco to have no previous criminal records, but it’s unheard of to have no records of his life at all. Dental records, blood work, nothing brings up any evidence of who he was; even his fingerprints show signs of being cut off. It’s as if he never existed.

Whether he was an inhabitant of Ashvale or was drawn here by the crime rate and general corruption is anyone’s guess, but Psycoco turned up out of the blue on the bloody end of a trail of practical joke-based murders, the only witnesses driven insane. It was a given that after his capture, he would be sent straight to the Cherrytree Institute, since his psychological instabilities were quite clear.

I’ve reviewed hours of Cherrytree’s therapy session footage with Psycoco and his list of diagnoses is a long one, seemingly as interchangeable as his behaviour. I was hoping some of the recordings would give an insight into his past, but each time the subject comes up Psycoco tells a different story. Further investigation into them has proven every one of these tales to be a lie.

Psycoco is dangerously psychotic to anyone nearby and seems to think his insanity has given him enlightenment. Maybe, in a warped way, it has; a freedom from the world of law and consequence that I stand for. He wants to ‘free’ the minds of as many others as he can, giving them the ‘gift’ of insanity by sending them mad and he will go to any depraved lengths to achieve it; failing that, he will free them from their lives. Psycoco seems to think I need freeing from my sanity most of all – I’d hate to see a world where he’s right.

A wildcard against my reasoned thinking, Psycoco is an unpredictable fighter who literally laughs in the face of pain and has a host of home-made deadly gadgets he has invented himself. Psycoco’s most dangerous attribute is his intelligence; His IQ levels register him as a genius and behind his grinning, insane exterior ticks an exceedingly clever mind… a match for mine in many ways, just running on a different tangent.
