Frongcrete sketch by Trueform Frongcrete sketch by Trueform
This is a sketch of Frongcrete, :iconpaintedopossum:'s winning entry to my video game-based fakemon competition. I'd already made an attempt at it while I was having an art block, but it came out a little chubby and I wasn't happy with it, so I gave it another shot; here's the original:

I'm much happier with this one.

The challenge to the design was to give it a pose that would show its concrete road-design back without also obscuring the front of the body. Hope you like it!

I like this little critter! What type(s) he gonna be? Something and Rock or Ground? Think he should learn Camouflage too! And Harden as a starter move, to allow him to survive under traffic!

I always use Paint.NET because it's free, though I very occasionally add effects with GIMP :)

Thanks again, buddy :D I can use lots of different programs (I used to work with photoshop and paintshop) but paint.NET just has everything I need at the moment :aww:

I do like it less chubby (though the chubby version reminded me of this guy: [link] The fact that you were able to show his face, legs, and back is impressive. ^^

Hahah yeah it kinda did :XD: frogs are tough to draw really and keeping a pokemon design looking different to something like, say, politoed even more so. I had a great base design to work with ;) it will look much better coloured too, of course :aww:

Frogs are hard, they're so gangly and awkward looking. XD Can't wait to see the colored version!

I know, right?! they have such odd anatomy that it sometimes doesn't look right even when it's drawn accurately :XD: thanks you very much :la:

Exactly! D: I have the same problem drawing birds. How can they tuck their wings on their backs like that!?

Good question! Birds are tough to draw too, I feel your pain! and backwards-facing knees like horses have ^^;
